ABOUT MYVILLAGE PROJECT

T he MyVillage Project is a community initiative created to build sustainable solutions for uplifting the Black community. The MyVillage Project is comprised of concerned board members, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors who believe in the power of partnership and collaboration.

FUNDING DIVERSITY

Over 1,200 nonprofits are registered in Northeast Florida, generating over $5 billion in annual revenue. Much of these funds are ultimately used to provide services and resources within the Black community. However, the vast majority of these funds are given to organizations whose boards and leaders don't reflect the community they serve. This has unfortunately resulted in stagnant improvements in education, health, crime, and poverty.

COLLECTIVE GIVING

Black nonprofits, many of whom operate on less than $5,000 a year, struggle to find the resources to expand and provide effective programming in their our community. These organizations are often 100% led by volunteers, and driven by the authentic desire to uplift the surrounding community.

The MyVillage Project Community Fund is a collective giving fund managed with The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, and designed to support the efforts of Black nonprofits in Northeast Florida. MyVillage Project members understand the power of collective giving, and are dedicated to organizing our talents and resources to support these organizations making a difference in our community.

We've defined Black nonprofits as 501c3 organizations with an African American executive director and majority African American board.

SELFLESS GIVING

BLACK NONPROFITS

The MyVillage Project is dedicated to supporting Black nonprofits that are providing assistance to the African American community. Many of these organizations operate on limited budgets and consist solely of volunteers who sacrifice their time and resources to make a difference. Collectively, they provide more volunteer service than any other nonprofit in Northeast Florida. We are committed to highlighting and supporting their efforts. Below are just a few of the organizations doing great work in our community.
